DSWD Eligibility

The DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development) provides funeral assistance to individuals in crisis situations, particularly those facing financial difficulties in covering funeral expenses. This assistance is part of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program and can be in the form of a one-time cash grant or a guarantee letter to be used at partner funeral homes. The amount of assistance varies based on the assessment of a social worker.

How to Avail Funeral Assistance from DSWD:

  1. 1. Determine Eligibility:

    Verify if you or the deceased's family member qualifies for assistance. Generally, individuals or families experiencing financial hardship due to the death of a loved one are eligible.

  2. 2. Gather Required Documents:

    Prepare the necessary documents, including the death certificate, certification from a hospital or authorized individual (e.g., doctor, Imam, tribal chieftain), and a funeral contract with the service provider.

  3. 3. Visit the DSWD Office:
